Hong Kong Fried Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cooked jasmine rice
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of finely chopped ham
  • 1/2 cup of cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup of peas
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble until fully cooked. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
  2. Add another tablespoon of oil into the pan. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Stir in the chopped ham, shrimp, green bell pepper, and peas. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice, scrambled eggs, and soy sauce. Mix well and cook for another 3 minutes.
  5. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot.
