Kimchi Fried Rice Recipe


  • 2 cups of cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 cup of kimchi, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of kimchi juice
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Add the chopped kimchi and stir fry for a few minutes until it starts to get crispy.
  3. Stir in the gochujang and mix well with the kimchi.
  4. Add the cooked rice into the pan and mix well with the stir-fried kimchi. Pour the kimchi juice over the rice and stir fry for a few more minutes.
  5. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
  6. Serve hot.
